Checking Bolt connection...

Default: localhost:13018. If you omit the scheme, Bolt uses https://. There is no automatic fallback to plaintext: HTTPS is how the browser proves it is talking to Bolt and not to something else on the same port.

Launch Mode Always on

Native

Open the Bolt desktop app. Fastest and already signed in. Falls back to a browser tab if the desktop app isn't running.

New Tab Page

Open Bolt on new tabs

When enabled, opening a new tab loads Bolt. Disable to get a blank page on new tabs. To fully restore Chrome's default new tab, disable or remove this extension.

Profile Name

Display name for this browser profile

Shown next to the browser badge in the Bolt launcher when you have multiple profiles of the same browser connected (e.g. Brave · Personal vs Brave · Work). Leave blank to use an auto-assigned label.

Address-bar Search

Use Bolt as my default search engine

When on, typing in the address bar searches Bolt. Chrome will ask you once to confirm the change after the extension is installed or enabled — this toggle records your preference but cannot force the change on its own. Turn it off here, then confirm in Chrome, to stop using Bolt as the default.

Opens chrome://settings/searchEngines where you can see and switch your default search engine at any time.

Live suggestions as I type

After the b keyword, show matches from the Bolt desktop app's on-device index in the address-bar dropdown as you type. Stays on your machine — queries go to the local app, never to Sparcle servers. Requires the desktop app to be running; off by default.

Sensitive data protection

Bolt screens what you paste, type and upload on AI sites before it leaves your browser. Everything is checked on this machine. Nothing is sent to Sparcle.

The policy is set in Bolt and this extension follows it, so the app and your browser always agree.

Review Set in Bolt

The review opens. The safe option is pre selected. The raw value may still be sent, with a reason.

Open searches in

Where address-bar searches (b …), Ask AI (b ai …), and right-click Search/Chat in Bolt open.

Auto Default

Follow Launch Mode — searches open wherever Launch Mode is set.

Native

Always open searches in the Bolt desktop app (falls back to a browser tab if it isn't running).

Troubleshooting

If Bolt isn't loading or login is stuck in the new tab or sidebar, click this to clear the cached PWA in the extension's storage partition. Bolt reloads fresh from the desktop app on next open.
