What do BYOK and BYO LLM mean?
BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) — plug in API keys from your existing enterprise agreements with Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Google, or Anthropic. BYO LLM (Bring Your Own LLM) — run self-hosted or private models in your own environment. Bolt supports both. This means zero unpredictable token markups. You can securely burn down your existing cloud spend commitments. With a BYO self-hosted LLM, nothing leaves your perimeter at all; with BYOK to a cloud provider, only PII-masked prompts reach the endpoint you control.
How does Bolt connect to our tools?
Bolt uses the open Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect to your SaaS tools — Slack, Jira, Notion, Salesforce, and more. No data migration needed.
Do you mark up AI tokens?
No. BYO-LLM is the default in every tier — you connect your own provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock, Azure, or a local model) and pay your provider directly at your own rate. We never mark up tokens. If you'd rather not manage keys, optional Managed AI is available on any tier, billed prepaid at provider cost with no markup. No surprise bills.

Where does our data live?
Entirely in your own infrastructure, in every tier — Authorize, Backbone, and Certify all self-host inside your perimeter. Sparcle never hosts your data. If you opt into Managed AI, prompts route through a zero-retention gateway covered by a DPA; nothing is stored by the LLM provider.
Can we switch plans later?
Yes. Start with Authorize (BYO-LLM) and upgrade to Backbone or Certify anytime. Your data, integrations, and configuration carry over seamlessly — and you stay self-hosted throughout.
What do we need to deploy Bolt?
Every tier self-hosts: deploy via Docker Compose (single VM) or Kubernetes (HA) in your own infrastructure. You’ll need a Redis instance and your identity provider configured. What’s the difference between Catalog and Dynamic?
Catalog is a curated directory with keyword search and manual updates — think of it as your company’s quick-reference index. Dynamic is a full enterprise search platform: ingest any document or data, search with hybrid AI (keyword + semantic vector), use 20 ready-made entity templates or define your own via API, and enforce 4-level ACL per user.
Can I index any type of corporate data?

What search technology powers Aeira?
Paid tiers use hybrid search combining Postgres full-text search (BM25 keyword matching) with pgvector (semantic vector search). Every result is ACL-filtered per user. Catalog uses lightweight keyword search only. Dynamic+ tiers can opt into Quickwit splits over object storage for very large corpora.
How do I get data into Aeira?
All paid tiers support bulk ingestion via REST API — push CSV, JSON, or YAML documents directly. Enhanced and Federated tiers add high-throughput async ingestion via Kafka. We publish SDKs, CLI tools, and example scripts to help you build ingestion pipelines for your data sources.
