Bolt in your browser

The extension masks sensitive data before it reaches an AI chat site, searches your open tabs, and fills logins and one-time codes from your vault. It talks only to the Bolt app on your own machine.

  • Firefox:

    Install the Bolt add-on (1.0.12). It is signed by Mozilla, so Firefox offers to install it straight from this page. Requires Firefox 115 or later.

  • Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera:

    Not yet available as a one-click install. Chromium browsers only install extensions from their own web store, and Bolt is not in the store yet. Until it is, the package is here for people who are happy to load it themselves: bolt-chrome-1.0.12.zip. Unzip it, open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, and choose Load unpacked. Chrome will warn about developer-mode extensions and will ask again after a restart.

  • Safari:

    Not shipping yet. It will arrive inside the macOS app rather than as a separate download, so there will be nothing extra to install.

Deploying it across an organization

Both packages can be force-installed from a managed policy, which avoids the store and the developer-mode prompt entirely: ExtensionSettings in Chrome or Edge policy, and policies.json for Firefox. The extension reads managed policy for its own settings too, including whether page capture is permitted and which hosts it applies to. Talk to us and we will send the policy templates for your management tool.
