Do I need admin rights to extend Bolt?

No, for snippets, search engines, User Apps, and (if your organization allows them) skills, agents and MCP servers. Yes, for connectors, detectors and compliance packs, because they change Bolt for everyone in the organization.

Do User Apps work in the browser?

No. User Apps live in a folder on your computer and run in the desktop app. Snippets and search engines work in both.

Can the AI run my User App?

No. User Apps are not AI tools. A person types the key and, for an App that runs a command, presses Enter.

Is a Boltpack safe to install?

Bolt refuses a pack that is unsigned or was changed after signing, and asks twice before installing one from a signer it does not know. It shows what each script declares, but does not yet stop a script doing more. Install packs only from people you trust. See the security model.

I dropped a Boltpack on the launcher and my skills did not appear.

The launcher installs a pack's User Apps and scripts. Import skills and agents from Settings, Agents, Import.

How do I remove a User App?

Delete its file in the User Apps folder (Settings, Desktop App, User Apps, Open folder) and click Reload. If it came with a script in the scripts folder, delete that too. From the next release, removing it in Settings also removes the scripts its pack installed.

My bridge App says the folder does not exist.

Bolt runs the program directly, with no shell, so ~ is not expanded. Write {{home}} instead.

Can my company turn User Apps off?

Each device has an Allow User Apps switch, which today the person using the device can change. From the next release your company can turn User Apps off through device policy (userAppsEnabled), and the person cannot switch them back.

Where is the community gallery?

It is not open yet. It opens once Bolt confines Apps to their declared permissions. See Publishing.
