Extend Bolt
Search engines and pinned sites.
A short prefix that searches a site for you. Tier 1: it only opens a web address. Personal.
Add a search engine.
Settings → Search & Commands → Search Engines.
Fill in a prefix, a name and a URL, then Add engine.
For example prefix r, name Reddit, URL
https://www.reddit.com/search/?q={q}. In the launcher,
type the prefix and your search.
In the same place you can switch off any built-in engine. Your organization can hide engines too; those show as locked.
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Prefix | 1 to 12 characters, starts with a letter, letters and digits only. Not one of Bolt's own prefixes, and not @ = / :. |
| Name | Up to 40 characters. |
| URL | Starts with https://. Put {q} where your search goes, at most once. With no {q} the prefix just opens the site. |
| How many | Up to 50. |
Pinned sites.
Pin a tab in Bolt's browser and type / and part of the site's
name to open it again: /wa finds web.whatsapp.com.
You can pin up to five. Bolt's own / commands always win a tie.
Slash scopes are built in.
Scopes such as /files or /emails come with Bolt.
You can hide them under Settings → Search & Commands → Scopes,
but you cannot add a new one. To add your own command, make a
User App instead.
Search engines and pinned sites cannot go in a Boltpack yet.
